BLOG 2017

The Photography Show is a destination for all image creators, and its home of the NEC had hundreds of exhibitors the year. A range of seminars and demo sessions show off the latest innovations, and also photography professionals talk about various bits of kit, I was lucky enough to be talking about automotive photography on the Profoto lighting stand...
Social media has been a great advert for my work, and with Photo Professional doing recent feature on my automotive work using the Profoto lighting equipment this lead to me talking for the Swedish company at the Photography Show this year. The talk centred about the flexibility of the Profoto B1 and B2 range, showing the flexibility of the kit and also with the battery packs attached to the lighting no need for long cables and access to electricity as everything is self contained. If you read any ofmy car blog entries you will know that the Profit's are a mainstay of my kit, not just reliable and constantly providing the right light over the ambience of daylight but a really easy to use product.

The day at the show was really busy, the photography business has become a market for all areas of products, some good and some just a bit obscure. It was also a good chance to meet fellow professional photographers on the Profoto stand, Hannah Couzens and John Clements, both superb portrait and fashion photographers. I also met up with editorial and documentary photographer Peter Dench, author of a recent book just published called the Dench Dozen, i've known Pet for a number of years and his outlook and take on modern photography is refreshing and fun.
