BLOG 2018

Team Buckley is an Osteopathy, Physiotherapy and sports and therapy centre in the heart of Canterbury. Andrew Buckley has owned the centre since 2006 and has an impressive portfolio of clients across the World, today I was covering a series of portraits for his website and social media pages...
Andrew is one of the very few therapists who holds qualifications in both Osteopathy and Physiotherapy disciplines, with further qualifications/training in Spinal Trauma and Orthopaedics, upper limb, shoulder and elbow rehabilitation, Paediatric Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Pilates, Acupuncture and sports massage. His clinical interests are in spinal (back, neck and pelvis) pain, post-surgical knee rehabilitation, arthritis care, and shoulder dysfunction in all ages.
Andrew has also worked with many sporting teams and events, including: professional premier and championship level football; the Kent Football Association; hockey; basketball; and international track cycling.

Andrew has worked at track cycling world cups (Team USA) and was a selected Physiotherapist based at the Velodrome at the London 2012 Olympics— He provided pre-Olympic rehabilitation to Team Nepal and the Chinese 2012 gold medal-winning team for seated volleyball at the Paralympics. Andrew has also worked as a Senior Physiotherapist at the Junior Commonwealth Games and the NatWest Island Games.
Currently, Andrew is a teaching fellow and examiner at the University of Bath on the Sports Physiotherapy master’s degree programme, and delivers yearly lectures on osteopathic spinal manipulation, having also taught these techniques within the Premier League rugby union.

The portraits were taken just outside of Canterbury and showed a mix of close ups, photos of Andrew and his bicycle and some more abstract images, all lit with the Profoto B2 with some additional fill light from the A1, the black and white image was my favourite as it combined Andrew's cycling passion in a unique way.
